Alison, Menopause Champion
Alison has her own Health and Beauty Salon in Doncaster, South Yorkshire which she established in 1996. She specializes in paramedical treatments, including aesthetics, semi-Permanent make-up, cryotherapy, dermaplaning, fat freezing, and advanced skincare and maintenance.
Menopause Journey
Alison wanted to help women throughout their menopausal journey. She has had many years of experiencing clients’ skin changing whilst during hormonal flux. Alison spent so much time adapting treatments and protocols, and advising them on their skincare for home use to accommodate their needs.
She has also helped many women with their weight management through treatments in her salon. While also offering support as a 1:1 Diet Consultant.
However, what has been more poignant to her, has been listening to the personal stories over the many years. Stories of how menopause has affected these women in so many aspects of their lives.
Compassion & Understanding
Even though Alison had compassion and understanding, it never truly resonated with her until she personally embarked on her own menopause journey. She was misunderstood by Drs and felt unbelieved by others.
She sourced the help and support she required to live a fulfilled and happy life again. In doing so, she realized at this point that she knew she wanted to help other women; to help and support them to understand what is happening to them both mentally and physically, and advise them how to overcome the symptoms and issues they are experiencing.
Nevertheless, her main aim is to educate younger women on how to be prepared for this road ahead of them. Advising them with recommendations on their diet, exercise, supplements, and what to look out for and be aware of. Alison strives to make the word ‘menopause’ a taboo no more. Rather a word that is accepted, understood, and no longer a challenge for women, believing that menopause should be a celebration of a new era in a women’s life, rather than the end of one.
An Excited Champion
It is true that Alison is very excited to be a Menopause Champion for the Menopause Experts Group. She’s looking forward to working with some amazing ladies all with the same aim – empowering women to be the best that they can be! The future for women is amazing.
